Tottenham transfer news LIVE: Omar Marmoush agreement, new Cody Gakpo bid, £140m double deal – Football London

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer strategy has shifted into a higher gear this week, with multiple fronts now in motion as the club pursues two attacking reinforcements and eyes a potential return for a former target. The latest developments suggest a club determined to reshape its squad before the window closes, with agreements reached on one front and renewed interest shown on another. According to reports from Football London, Tottenham have made significant progress on two key fronts, while a third potential move remains in flux.

Omar Marmoush deal nears completion

Tottenham have reached an agreement with VfB Stuttgart over the signing of Omar Marmoush, according to multiple reports. The 25-year-old Egyptian international has been a consistent performer in the Bundesliga, notching six goals and four assists in 32 appearances last season. His acquisition would add depth and competition to Spurs’ forward options, particularly in wide areas where his ability to stretch play and deliver crosses could prove decisive. While contract details remain undisclosed, the move signals Tottenham’s intent to bolster their attacking ranks with a player who offers both creativity and directness in the final third. The club’s recruitment team appears to have moved swiftly to secure the deal, potentially ahead of rivals who have also been linked with the forward, including Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

Cody Gakpo bid revived as Tottenham push for late addition

Tottenham have tabled a fresh bid for Cody Gakpo, reigniting interest in the Liverpool winger. The new approach follows earlier interest that stalled, but the club’s determination to add a creative outlet has prompted a reassessment. Gakpo’s versatility—he can operate on either flank or centrally—makes him an attractive option, particularly as Tottenham seek to add unpredictability to their attack. The bid’s progression will be closely monitored, especially as Arsenal have also been linked with the player, adding a competitive dimension to the race. Liverpool’s need to balance their squad following recent departures may also work in Tottenham’s favour, though the Merseyside club’s valuation of the player remains a potential sticking point.

£140m double deal takes shape as Savinho enters frame

A potential £140m double deal involving both Marmoush and Savinho has gained traction, with Tottenham exploring a two-pronged approach to strengthen their forward line. The inclusion of Savinho, the 23-year-old Brazilian winger currently at Manchester City, would represent a significant investment but also a statement of ambition. While the proposed combined fee would rank among the club’s most substantial outlays in recent years—exceeding the £100m spent on players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Cristian Romero in 2023—negotiations remain fluid. Manchester City’s reported willingness to entertain offers for Savinho could accelerate discussions, though Tottenham’s financial constraints mean any deal would require careful structuring, potentially involving performance-related add-ons or staggered payments.

Tottenham’s transfer activity comes amid a backdrop of tactical evolution under Ange Postecoglou, who has prioritised high-energy, attacking football. The club’s recent performances have been inconsistent, with just three wins in their last ten Premier League matches, and the addition of Marmoush and Savinho could provide the cutting edge needed to challenge for a top-four finish. Their arrival would not only add depth but also force existing forwards like Son Heung-min and James Maddison to raise their game, creating a more competitive environment. However, the club’s financial constraints remain a factor. The proposed £140m double deal would place considerable strain on the budget, particularly if other targets—such as a defensive reinforcement—are pursued simultaneously. Tottenham’s ability to balance ambition with fiscal responsibility will be tested in the coming days, as the window threatens to close without further clarity.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Marmoush and Gakpo, coupled with the Savinho link, paints a picture of a club in transition. The next 48 hours could define their summer, with the potential to reshape the squad’s dynamics entirely. Whether they can finalise these deals—and at what cost—will be the defining narrative as the transfer window draws to a close. For now, the focus remains on securing the signatures. If Tottenham can pull off even one of these moves, it would represent progress. Completing both would signal a bold statement of intent, one that could set the tone for the season ahead.
